How rankings work
- Every finish earns 20 × √players ÷ √position points, rounded. With 16 players, 1st gets 80, 8th gets 28 and last gets 20. Bigger fields are worth more.
- A no-show (registered but not checked in) costs 25 points in that semester, unless the board excuses it. A semester total never goes below 0.
- Semesters run from 1 September to 31 January (Autumn) and from 1 February to 31 August (Spring). All-time adds up every semester.
- Ties are broken by the best single finish, then by the most tournaments played. Players tied on all three share a rank (“=3”).
- University tables count tournaments played while verified at that university.
